SST's Commitment to a Better Environment
Global Trend towards Eliminating Lead from Electronic Products
Electronics industries in Europe, Japan and the United States have already begun to develop regulations to eliminate lead and other substances from electronic products. In this regard, the European Union has ratified a ban on harmful substances, such as lead, in electrical and electronic equipment under the RoHS (Restriction on Hazardous Substances) directive, which will be effective July 1, 2006.
SST's Commitment and Track Record
SST is a leader in offering non-Pb (lead-free) products. In March of 2002, we announced and began shipping volume production of such products. By 2003, almost every SST product was offered in production with a lead-free option. As of December 2005, SST has shipped well over 340 million non-Pb units worldwide.
Today, all members of SST's Parallel Flash, Serial Flash, Combination Memory, Embedded Controllers, Mass Storage, Smart Card ICs, and Communications product lines are offered with a non-Pb (lead-free) environmental option.
