The FlashFlex Dongle Kit is designed for those without regular or convenient access
to a PC but still want to be able to reprogram SST microcontrollers. The Dongle Kit board
can be programmed by a PC via the SSTEasyIAP software at one location and taken or sent to
a remote location to reprogram an embedded SST MCU.
The Dongle Kit can be used for any of the following four operating scenarios:
The Dongle board is used to connect to a host PC via the RS-232 connection in order to download new target code from PC to Dongle board.
The Dongle board is connected to the target system to be updated, and the user quickly and efficiently updates this and other embedded systems with the intended target code.
The Dongle board serves as an emulator target board on which the user runs SST's SoftICE software emulator program, which performs debugging of user 8051 code.
The Dongle board becomes an RS-232 transceiver to a user target board.
